How do I apply resin?

Industrial floors
Surfaces must be adequately cleaned from any oily residues, detached parts or dust in order to guarantee correct grip of the coating. The substrate needs to be roughened, either by sanding or shot-blasting, to ensure a proper grip of Materica trowel coating. Where applicable, remove any neoprene from joints and fill them in.
Old Floors
Materica is perfect to rejuvenate any rooms with no need of demolition. It can be applied directly to both floor and ceramic surfaces without detaching the existing coating.
Screed
Screed must be even, clean, compact and adequately cured. We recommend applying coatings on high-resistance screed or in any case, on screed with a minimum resistance to compression of 20 MPa and tear resistance of 1.5 MPa. Residual relative humidity must not exceed 3%. Carefully assess the quality and condition of the substrate, as well as exposure and the waterproofing system.
Plaster
When applying to walls over existing plaster, it is necessary to ensure that the substrate is sound, that it is not flaking and that it has a minimum resistance to compression of 4 MPa. If the substrate is powdery, but the mechanical resistance is sufficient, we recommend first applying Wepox Primer.
Plasterboard
Plasterboard substrates must be primed first. Apply with a short hair roller on a dry surface
a coat of WEPOX PRIMER at a rate of 20-40 g/m2 depending on the temperature and conditions of the substrate.
Ceramics
Surfaces must be roughened by sanding or shot-blasting and must be adequately cleaned from oily residues, detached parts or dust in order to guarantee a perfect grip of the coating. Joints can be filled in directly with Materica Rasante di Fondo Materica Rasante di Fondo to restore the substrate flatness.
